‘9.21’

How do we remember? ‘9.21’ peers into 20 years after the most traumatic event to occur on American soil. 9/11. Ground Zero, the now-iconic site of remembrance, which sees intense foot traffic as it memorialises the trauma felt throughout the world.

A day that so many remember while at the same time, many have forgotten;

A day of so many emotions;

A day that has fed into the national identity of America on an immeasurable scale.

Do We Remember?

I spent the week before the 20th anniversary documenting the chaotic scenes of the build-up and how individuals acts of remembrance interact with the space.
